I was fortunate to work with Paul during his tenure at Kodak. It was a pleasure working with him. I also am married to Coach Schlegel who had the privilege of coaching the girls at Monroe. Your wonderful family is a tribute to Paul and Jean. My heartfelt sympathy to all of you during this very sad time. My prayers are with all of you.

Paul was a truely great public servant, and a teacher. He was my boss in Rochester for my first job in public service. He taught me the fundemental values of professionalism and hard work. He also showed me how to work within a team, and that having fun was OK. Being honest and dedicated came easy to Paul, and he also encouraged his people to be creative and to take the long view. I will miss Paul as a man and as a teacher.

As I told my cousin Jean, the world has lost a sweet gentle man with the passing of Paul. I recall meeting him at their wedding and thinking what a “man of the world” he was. I think he worked for Kodak (?) at the time and as youngster I was familiar with that name and was very impressed. Our family sends sincere sympathy to Jean and all her family.

I was saddened to reads about Paul in this mornings Greeley Tribune. What I remember most was his support of me during my deployment to “Desert Storm” in 1991. He was at my “Welcome Home” party even though we barely knew each other.
