Obituary of Sharon Black Elk

Sharon Dee Black Elk was born on 10/27/1958 and entered the Spirit world on 03/19/2008. Sharon was a lovable, kind-spirited, caring and humorous woman who shared her passion for fine art through her artistic creations. She was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force and also attended the Santa Fe Institute of American Indian Arts. She is survived by her four children, three sisters, three brothers, numerous extended family members and friends. A memorial viewing is scheduled for Monday, March 24, 2008 from 10:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. at the Denver Indian Center gymnasium (4407 Morrison Road in Denver, 303-936-2688). Internment will be held at the Fort Logan National Cemetery located at 3698 South Sheridan Blvd., (Cemetery is located two blocks south of Hampden Avenue on the left (east) side of South Sheridan Boulevard), Denver CO, (303) 761-0117, in Staging Area B. (Please arrive at the cemetery at 1:00 P.M. as the service will begin strictly at 1:30 P.M., your punctuality is a must as the procession will line up then be lead to a separate location where the service will begin). There will be a gathering and feast at the Denver Indian Center after the burial services, and food donation s are welcome.
