Obituary of Raymond Whitford Cartwright III

MSgt Raymond W. Cartwright III, Ret. 58, of Peyton Colorado died on Dec 30, 2019. He was born in Huntingon Pennsylvania, the son of Rev. Raymond W. Cartwright Jr. and Lavada M. (Over) McCallen. Lavada predeceased him on 23 Jun 2012. He was married and divorced to Benita (Magee) (Cartwright) Tucker for 26 years. He never remarried.

He has a surviving son, Raymond W. Cartwright IV, daughter Amanda N Pantan, and granddaughters Le'gna Nevaeh Cartwright, and Jayla Grace Pantan. He has no siblings.

Raymond was a 1980 graduate of Altoona High School, and Altoona Vocational-Technical for Engineering Related Technologies; he had an Associate's Degree from the Community College of the Air Force for Electronic System Technology. He enlisted in the US Air Force  in January of 1982 and served 21.5 years . He then honorably retired to Peyton, Colorado in August 2003. He spent the next 16 years working as a defense contactor for SAIC/Leidos.

He was a HQ NORAD-USNORTHCOM Plank Owner establishing the command in it's first year. He enjoyed camping and motorcycling in the mountains of Colorado. At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing and no memorial service will be held.
