Obituary of Mary Manuelita Alcala

Mary (Nellie) Manuelita Alcala, 81 of Brighton, CO passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2020, in her home while under hospice care.  Mary was born on December 7, 1938 in Riverton, Wyoming to Fernando Alcala and Adelina Vigil Alcala.  During her life she was employed as waitress and factory worker.  She enjoyed spending time with family, quilting, gardening and watching DIY shows.

She was raised in Superior, WY and met Aurelio Cereceres in Bitter Creek, WY -  they were married in December of 1953.  She is survived by four children, Teresa Collins of Codell, KS, Aurelio Cereceres, Jr. of Denver, CO, Lisa Cereceres and George Olivas (son-in-law) of Brighton, CO, Andrea Cereceres  and Gabe Rodriguez (son-in-law) of Henderson, CO.   

Her grandchildren are Sean Guffey of Valley Falls, Kansas, Larissa Lopez Cook of Greeley, CO, Jennifer Martinez of Denver, CO, Christopher Cereceres of Thornton, CO, Marcos Rodriguez of Henderson, CO, Trent Sandoval Cereceres of Henderson, CO and Annissa Rodriguez of Henderson, CO.

Her great-grand children are Maryeuh Guffey Anderson, Roman Roybal, Divina Perez, Adelia Perez, Sally Ceres Cook, Cienna Cereceres and Giovanni Perez.  Her great-great grand child is Elias Newman, along with many nieces and nephews.

She is survived by siblings, Pauline Stratton, Jake Alcala, Marcie Alcala, Beneito Alcala , Delores Guzman, Josephine Legarreta, Fernando Alcala, Jamie Alcala, Nola Johnson and Nolan Knox.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fernando Alcala, her mother, Lena Vigil Alcala, sister, Juliene Alcala, brother, Lewis Alcala, daughter-in-law Tomie Sanchez and son-in-law, John Collins.
