Obituary of Dorothy Ann Jackson

Our loving mom, grandma and friend Dorothy Jackson aka “Aunt Dot”, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the age of 78 in her home in Colorado Springs, CO.

Dorothy was born May 19, 1941 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Fred Danage and Gladys (Head) Danage.  Surviving are her loving husband James D Jackson, wonderful children, daughters Kelly Jackson, Lisa Jackson and son Lance Jackson and daughter in law, Karisa Jackson all of Colorado Springs, CO. Her brother Fred (and Royce) Danage, of Peoria, Ill, and their three children Michelle (Sanders), Sharon (Hardin-Hines), and Mark Danage and many nieces and nephews. By her sister daughters Heather Hollaway and Carla Hollaway. She is also, survived by 13 grandchildren (Brandon, Tyler, Sydnei, Brooke, Bailei, Bjorn, Nicole, Quincey, Sierra, Isaiah, Kailei, Darin, Miranda) and 5 great grandchildren, (Nyah, Karrington, Eliana, Noah and Ryan) all of Colorado Springs, CO.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles, and sister Gladys Haynes.

She had a long fulfilling career with the United States government and was a small business owner as well as helped to raise and take care of her wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her laugh, her feisty attitude, and spunky “take no shit” personality. She always had a way with words and sayings and for her stories. She enjoyed life and taking care of the great grandchildren they kept her young.

She will be dearly missed by a host of family and extended family members, friends (new and old), and all those who had the pleasure of making her acquaintance.

A celebration of life occurred in Colorado Springs, CO.  Interment to be held in Peoria, Illinois later.
