Theresa Trujillo-Baines

Obituary of Theresa Manuelita Trujillo-Baines

Theresa Manuelita Trujillo-Baines, September 7th, 1938, left this earth at 81, to join her beloved mother, father and siblings in the heavenly realm on May 16th, 2020, at 4:45am. She was survived by her ever faithful husband Lemon Baines Jr., two loving children, Annette Jacqueline Trujillo, and David Dean Trujillo, and her three grandchildren, Estrella Christina Theresa Maez, Reina Clarissa Trujillo, and Jennifer Dean Trujillo.

Theresa bestowed many gifts upon her family, but the three that her family will carry with them are the following:

The first being her compassionate heart. Her friends and family often compared her to a living angel or Mother Theresa whom she looked to as a source of inspiration. There was no sadness too great or a problem too big for her heart. She always knew how to provide the perfect amount of guidance, balanced with comfort, and the head scratches were the ultimate bonus.

Her second gift she gave her family was a deep love for the arts. Theresa would often doodle, watercolor paint, dance in the kitchen, and with her last breaths had a song to sing. There was always music playing in her home and she could be heard humming herself to sleep, a trait she passed down to her children and grandchildren.

Her third gift was an unwavering love. She LOVED hard and without restraint. She married the love of her life on December 31st, 1997 and every New Year they’d celebrate with a lobster dinner and champagne toast. She loved her children and grandchildren who are a living reflection of that love.

Theresa will be laid to rest at Fort Logan Cemetery and at a later date a portion of her ashes will be scattered into a field of sunflowers so she can be one with the earth and stars.

This is not goodbye. We’ll be seeing you in sunflowers, sparrows, the moon, and stars.
