Obituary of David Dean Bettis

David Bettis, 85, of Littleton, Colorado passed away, June 2, 2020,  in Littleton. Dave was born in Denver, Colorado, the son of Clyde R. Bettis and Ola L. (Williams) Bettis. As a family, they travelled to Independence, Kansas, where Dave grew up, graduated High School, and formed lifelong friendships. Dave was one of very few people to score a perfect 100 on the military enlistment qualifying test. He served with distinction in the U.S. military, including distinguished combat service in Viet Nam, duty in Japan, and challenging assignments in the continental United States. Dave married Laquita M. (Sandy) Sneed, and together they travelled to Africa, where Dave also served with honor.

Dave excelled at everything he undertook and was an avid family man. He loved his family, and his grandchildren, and was respected and loved in return. His depth of knowledge and his capabilities were truly remarkable. He enjoyed a lengthy and satisfying retirement, spending time with family, travelling, and helping others. He is survived by his son Steve Bettis, daughter Kelly West, nephews Ken and Keith Bettis, beloved grandchildren and many other precious family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack R. Bettis.

Funeral services and burial will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 West Kenyon Avenue, Denver, Colorado, 80236.
