Obituary of Robert P. Sterner

On Friday, August 14, 2020, Robert P Sterner passed away at his home in Arvada, Colorado, at the age of 89.

Robert was born on October 11, 1930 to William and Margaret Sterner in York, Pennsylvania.  He received a chemistry degree from Franklin & Marshall college in 1952 and then went on to serve in the US Army, performing technical research duties at the White Sands testing facility in New Mexico.  While stationed there, he met his future wife of 62 years, Lois J. Aubele.  Following his Army service, Robert was employed by Calgon for 33 years as a chemical engineer focusing on providing water treatment services for the steel manufacturing and power generation industries.

Robert and Lois ultimately settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where they lived for many years raising a son and daughter.  The family moved to Colorado in 1980 and resided in the Green Mountain area of Lakewood until 2017.

Robert had a passion for music that allowed him to indulge his technical prowess while building the perfect stereo systems for enjoying his music.  He also liked fishing, particularily the trips he made to Lake Powell and traveling with his wife, Lois.  He was a kind man, good father and husband, and will be missed by all.  Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Lois in 2015, and is survived by his children, Robert H Sterner and Susan L Sterner.
