Bob was a wonderful friend and business partner. Bob was always true to his word and his handshake was his bond.
We met in the transportation industry where Bob had spent many years on the open road traversing this great nation. He enjoyed the freedom of the road as much as the freedom of the sky. We met late one afternoon at my desk in a local trucking company. I stayed late to disassemble the keyboard to my computer and clean each key when Bob walked by and looked at me like I was crazy. I respectfully gave him the same look right back. He then introduced himself, sat down and begin to tell me he was as crazy as I was (in a neat freak sort of way).
That conversation lasted for the next three decades. We were in business twenty of those years and we talked about everything almost every day. We worked together, we played together, we drove together and we traveled together. As much fun as we had though he never forgot about or was too far from his family.
He cherished his wife Diana and loved his kids and extended family very much. He would almost always work his family into the conversation at hand and then snap back to being “one of the guys”. Caring, giving, and loving just came natural to Bob and it showed.
He will be missed in many ways but never forgotten. I know he will always be looking down on us as we soar through the blue skies, drive the black ribbons of highway and sail the crystal-clear waters of our great oceans.
God Bless and Godspeed my friend,
De Wayne Crowder

I mourn the loss of Bob, my best friend. Bob and I met in the Navy 70 years ago and we became best friends. We were known as Squids by the Marines.
One day, the USS Randolph and the USS Coral Sea were in port for a fleet conference. As I was going down the ladder to see if I could find Robbie, there he was coming up the ladder looking for me. We enjoyed a great day together.
Bob was a loving husband to his wife, Diana, and a loving father and grandfather.
He awakened a love of flying in me and we shared many, many adventures including a six week trip to Alaska. That was one of the high points of our flying escapades.
Bob was an America Patriot. He served his country with honor and will be sorely missed.
Rest In Peace, Robbie. God bless.
Your friend forever, Ralph
