In 1956, my family moved in across the street from the Hernandez family. In our new neighborhood on Raritan St in Perl Mack, there were a lot of kids around the same age. We all went from grade school to high school together. We had great times hanging out together in the summer mainly walking the streets at night terrorizing the neighbors!!! As we grew up, we went to the same parties, pizza places. We had a great group of friends and Paul was always with us. Later, after we graduated, we all went our separate ways, seeing each other at high school reunions. Paul was very much loved as a long time friend, we loved him. I’m so sorry for his passing.

Paul was/is a member of a combat fraternity playfully known as the “Dream Team.” His authentic charm and unselfish grace were cornerstone characteristics to his life. Paul’s life can be described as the very definition of faith, hope and love with love being the strongest of all. March on brave Marine you are loved and will be missed.

Paul's family & mine lived very close to each other since the 1950's. In 1956 my family moved to Perl Mack, & Paul's family also moved there---in the SAMe block! My sister Sandy graduated with Paul, & they were good friends. Out enlistment in the USMC over-lapped, & we were able to get together in California when he finished basic training. We stayed in touch after I moved to Iowa in 1974. I hope his family finds peace in the fact that a lot of people loved Paul, he was a good person, and a good friend. May he rest in peace. My memory of cousin Paul is when he came back home from Vietnam to visit my mom, Donald and me at our home on Lipan Street. Paul had to duck into our kitchen entrance because he was so tall, haha. Our cousin Paul had always been a huge part of our lives and always watched over us. The Castro and Hernandez family bond was strong and unconditional. This world and life will not be the same without you. We love you, Primo Pauly.
Your loving cousins,
Castro Family (Dan, Kathy, Vicki, Donald, Christine, Alicia, Andrea)

We were fortunate enough to have Paul throughout his life time and we handed him over to Josh and Tammy to have in death. Anyone who knew Paul personally knows who Princess is,his daughter, his pride and joy.Along with Jasmine and Nicole. He couldn’t stop bragging about how proud he was of all his Princess for all her accomplishments. He was so excited for her to graduate from Dartmouth and couldn’t wait to hang her degree along side his. Paul spent the last 20+ years with his common law wife Loretta.Paul was loved by many and even on his last days loved ones wanted to be there by his side.Paul also left behind 4 grandchildren Alina,Junior,Cupcake and Juicy. Although he loved the four of them the same Cupcake was his favorite grandchild and he didn’t care much about who knew it.He helped coach and cheer on his grandchildren in all the sports they participated in.He couldn’t be more proud of his Warrior Princess(Alina) when she lettered in wrestling as he did.The love and memories we shared can never be replaced. We will cherish them for eternity.
We love you Paul,Dad,Grandpa

Sad to hear this news. I worked with Paul at Zuni, he was a great person. He could lighten up any situation, I know he was proud of his kids. My prayers go out to all of you.
God bless you all.
