Dad,
Thank you for raising me and teaching me the importance of continuously learning. I value the time you spent quizzing me on solving math problems on the top of my head. You taught me to have a passion for reading, how to drive both a motorcycle and car, and so much more that I still use today and which have helped me in my life.
I appreciate the long bicycle rides we had together along the Platte River, exploring and enjoying the sunshine. Thank you for spending time with my dog Luna and checking in on her. I will miss visiting and having conversations with you tremendously. You will always be in my heart.
Love,
Rose Lopez

To my Dad.
How do you let go of someone that taught you so many things?
You and I spent many hours outside of your place working on your car or my car or both. You stressed to me the importance of checking the oil, changing the oil. the air pressure in the tires, making sure all the fluids were full. I learned a lot and I know it was the time spent together that meant so much to both of us.
A memory came back to me so vividly the other day. I remember you had a job delivering flowers in Cherry Creek and I went along with you. I sat in the back holding the flowers while you drove the delivery van. I helped you deliver the flowers. That was a great day helping my dad deliver flowers.
Thanks to you, Dad, for all the help and lessons you have taught me. I'll never forget it. I appreciate everything.
I love you.
Your daughter,
Theresa Maria

I am deeply saddened by the loss of my Uncle Leo. For years, he would come by my house frequently when he was out riding. He never stayed, just knocked on the door and would say Hi and leave. A short sweet visit. We would run into each other all the time at Walmart and he would complain about grocery prices. He would make me laugh.
When I talked to him while he was sick, he would ask me for my grand daughter. He was always a very caring man.
The last time I saw him, I was leaving and he called out my name. When I went back, he told me "Dios te bendiga. Y Dios te bendiga a tu familia. Tu nieta va estar bien." A week later we were told my granddaughter was cured of cancer. My Uncle Leo knew, he gave her his blessing and prayers and God listened. I will never never forget my Uncle's last words to me. He is now a guardian angel to this family.
Uncle Leo will be greatly missed.
May he have eternal peace!

Grandpa Leo,
You are sorely missed but you leave a lifetime of wonderful memories behind. I remember the times we went camping, had family parties, all the things you taught me, went fishing, all the stories you shared, and even just being able to visit just to catch up.
I remember the big smile you’d have whenever we went fishing and caught some, usually several. We’d start early and you’d always find the best spot. By noon we’d have a bucket full of fish and people would be encroaching on our area. Then we’d go home and you’d cook the fish for all to eat and enjoy.
I remember you teaching me how to ride a motorcycle, it was difficult at first but with your encouragement I was able to ride all on my own. You were always optimistic and never doubted I could do it. I remember how much you enjoyed motorcycles and cars in general. Whenever we visited you’d be working on your car or a friends car, usually just for fun. I remember how handy you were in general, there was nothing you couldn’t fix.
Most of all, I remember how much you loved all of your family. There’s nothing you wouldn’t do for them and the joy you always had on your face when family visited was immeasurable.
You are severely missed and I’m very thankful for all of the great times we were able to have together. At least you are now with your loved ones in heaven and I look forward to reuniting one day.
Love,
Matt

+ 1
In 1985, I met Leo for the first time and he enjoyed motorcycles, fixing cars and was a great handyman. My world was different than his and yet we got along well. He never judged me and at the very end, I had an opportunity to spend time with him in his final weeks.
As long as I have known Leo, he has been a loving and caring father-in-law, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He enjoyed making memories with his family and taking pictures. After looking through his photos, I noticed he would like to go to a Walmart kiosk and date the photo and add the name of his grandchild. He was very proud of his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
