Ted Leon Devlin

July 17, 1949 ~ February 19, 2021

Ted Leon Devlin, 71, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021 with his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Merry by his side. Ted born in St. Joseph, Missouri arrived with his family in Colorado in 1958. In March 1969 Ted enlisted with the United States Navy and served honorably in the Submarine Service during the Vietnam War. Following his military service Ted attended Metro State College and the Colorado Institute of Art where he majored in Commerical Arts. A talented artist with a passion for painting, drawing, sculpting and photography. Ted was always open to new experiences, techniques and mediums to enhance his abilities and skills. With a focus on nature and wildlife Ted's art reflected his love of the outdoors and his home in Colorado. While displaying his artwork at various shows and shops through out the state Ted taught students in small and large settings and eventually developed a great reputation on the western slope where he held classes in Glenwood Springs, New Castle and Rifle.

In 1982 Ted married the love of his life, Merry. Ted welcomed Merry's children into his life and happily accepted his new role as dad, cook, chauffer and sometimes referee. Despite their challenges including a very messy wallpaper debacle and a few misadventures on remote back roads Ted and Merry's relationship was proof that being married to your best friend was a true blessing.

A devoted and loving husband and father, Ted was always proud of his children and many grandchildren and enthusiastically supported their dreams in any way he could. There was no end to Ted's kindness, generosity and compassion for those he knew and those he had not yet met. With a soft heart and generours spirit Ted was a loyal friend and never failed to bring joy and laughter to any situation.

Ted and Merry lived on the western slope for many years before returning to Englewood, Colorado to be closer to family and friends. Ted enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching movies, playing cards spending time with family and cheering on his beloved Denver Broncos.

Ted will be missed dearly by all those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Ted mad the world a brighter, kinder and gentler place.
