Obituary of Edwin Elmer Blomgren

Edwin Elmer Blomgren died in his home at 5349 Ferrari Dr., Colorado Springs, Colorado on April 17, 2021 at the age of 73. Edwin is survived by his siblings Ivan A. Blomgren (NM), Loletta C. Gillchriest (CO) and Orilla E. Mears (CO), 4 nieces, 3 nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Patricia H. Blomgren and his parents John E. Blomgren and Alyse C. Blomgren Edwin was born on January 18, 1948 Glenwood Springs, CO to John and Alyse Blomgren. He attended and graduated from Eagle Valley High School. He later joined the Navy and received training to become a machinery repairman and upon his discharge on August 29, 1978 he had achieved the rank of Third Class Petty Officer. He settled in San Jose, CA where he met his wife-to-be Patricia Helen Green and they were married on June 25, 1983. Throughout his nearly 45 year career as a machinist, he worked for a variety of industrial machine shops in the San Jose area until his eventual retirement. He loved old cars, country music and Karaoke singing. He was also an active member of Campbell Lodge No 1811 Loyal Order of Moose in San Jose. One notable event was his move from California to Colorado Springs in March of 2018 when his landlord, Tony Hicks decided to sell all his holdings in California and settle in Colorado Springs, an event which even caught the eye of the news media. When Tony approaches his tenants with this decision, his tenants all decided to move with him and rent from him in his new location and so began a trek with an 18 wheeler moving van and six tenants from California to Colorado, a sort of modern day covered wagon trip in reverse without all the hardships and adventures of our pioneers in the old west days.
