Obituary of Virley Morris Lamb

Known to all as “Moe”, Virley Morris Lamb, 88, was born in Farmer City, Illinois on October 6, 1932 to his beloved mother Elnora Cora Milburn (Gregg).  

 

Moe’s love of sports began at a young age.  He was a basketball star and prom king in his hometown.  His popularity and happy-go-lucky attitude continued throughout his life.  As a youngster, Moe would take the train to St. Louis to watch the Cardinals baseball team.  However, upon moving to Colorado, he became an avid and loyal fan of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, and pretty much any sport that was broadcast on TV.  Moe briefly served in the US Navy and was a hard worker his entire life. He loved fishing, camp fires, coffee, casinos, bingo, bowling, feeding all the neighborhood squirrels, and always told his family how much he loved them.  Moe’s lasting legacy will be his children, grand children, and great grand children. 

Moe was a loving father to seven; Debbie (Scott), Penny (Gil), Stan (Christine), Vicky (Dave), Barry, and twins Candy (Doug), and Randy. Grandfather of eleven; John, Bryan, Bridget, Brad (Melissa), Brooke (Tim), Brenna (Josh), Amanda (Jeremiah), Anna (Luis), Andrew (Sheal’est), Kevin, and Karley (Zach). Great-grandfather of 17; Blu, Danny, Chase, Brayden, Ayva, Armani, Allie, Bohannon, Kinsley, Alexander, Benton, Rylee, Regan, Paul, Reese, McKenna, and namesake...Morris.  

A long time resident of Northglenn, Colorado, Moe passed away from lung cancer surrounded by family on Sunday May 23, 2021.  He is proceeded in death by his sisters; twin Shirley Doris (Hazen) and Mary Ellen (Holt).  

A service is scheduled at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday June 23, 2021 at 3pm with a private family service at a later date in Farmer City, Illinois.
