Obituary of Robert A. Dennis

Mr. Robert A. Dennis was called to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 4, 2021.  Preceding him in death and welcoming him into heaven with open arms are his parents, John and Truletta Young, best friend of many years Bill Panek and daughter-in-love, Angil.

Born January 1, 1940 in Cranston, Rhode Island to Truletta Merit and Stanley Dennis, Robert completed his formal education in Providence, Rhode Island.  Robert, fondly known by those who loved him as Bobby, joined the United States Air Force immediately following high school.  He proudly served his country for over twenty years including a tour in Vietnam before retiring and settling with his family in Denver, Colorado.   After his military career, Bobby went on to work as an electronics technician for several companies, including Denver University and Ball Containment from which he retired a second time.

Bobby married the love of his life Nitaya in July 1970.  Bobby and Nit loved spending time traveling, and fishing.  Bobby worked hard to provide for his children and cherished his wife.  Laughter shared between Bobby and Nit was commonplace.

Bobby will always be remembered for his funny stories and his great sense of humor.  There was never a dull moment as he loved telling jokes and playing tricks on everyone.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beautiful wife of over 50 years, Nitaya Dennis, sons Robert A. Dennis, Jr., Bobby J. Dennis and Alvin V. Dennis, daughters, Tracey Roland (Carl) and Nitaya Curry (Tony), grandchildren, Daunte Monroe, Santana Jaquez, Ahzhane Dennis, Brandon Roland, Jonakii Jones, Kiera Dennis, Steven Dennis, Kamani Dennis Giles, Kenadie Dennis, Day’Jior Curry and A’Zhaiah Curry and three beautiful great grandchildren.  It may seem like a non-traditional family unit from the outside, but Bobby’s bond with Somsong Holmes, Jennifer Jones and Carmen Henderson was no different than if they were his daughters by blood. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends.  He will be missed by all.
