I am sorry to hear of Al's passing, he was a good friend to our family. My brother and I were always impressed with the incredibly consistent motion of Al's bowling approach, swing, and follow through. We would often try to imitate him hoping to get the same consistency in results, unfortunately it never worked out that way! Another memory was being introduce to "real" lawn darts in their backyard, too bad those are so hard to come by these days! those were fun!

I have many fond memories of Al. Mostly bowling and socializing at each other’s houses when the kids were smaller. As the kids grew up we spent many nights going out to different restaurants for dinner.
Bowling with Al and Marilyn was always fun and Al was a fantastic bowler. I remember the night he bowled a 300 game - with each strike the tension grew and so did the crowd around our lanes. Time for the last strike and it was another perfect ball. Cheers went up and glasses clinked! It was so exciting!
We had been telling Al of our trouble teaching Rob how to ride a bike. He said he had a technique where he could teach Rob in short order. “Come over to watch the Bronco game on Sunday, bring Rob and his bike and we’ll teach him during half time.” True to his word, Rob was riding his bike by the end of halftime and never looked back!
Thank you for the great memories Al - you will be in our hearts always,
Jan Sevier

Some Fond Memories of Al Koch (aka Snakeman)
I recall fond memories of working with Al on several jobs together, living in the same neighborhood, carpooling, and family socializing. He was a good worker and always paid attention to detail. As I was an apprentice in Local 68, IBEW, Al was a great teacher and role model. We bowled together on several mixed leagues with Marilyn and Jan and had a great time!
I remember the fun we had when Al and I visited the ranch property they were members of and fished and toured around on the homemade dune buggy.
One great memory was when we were on a job out at Lockheed Martin when Al came across a rattlesnake outside. He promptly grabbed a shovel, killed it, and took it home to skin it, pinned it to a piece of cardboard to dry.
RIP SNAKEMAN!

Al was such a good friend. Al and I went through apprentiship school together for 4 years and for quite a few years Al and I worked on the same jobs together while at Simmons Electric. I would get a job going and about half way through, in the need of another foreman the shop would send out Al. For a week Al would spend the day in the trailer pouring over the plans and purchase orders and would only emerge when he knew exactly what the project would be like finished. We went to a foremans training meeting (with golf...) in Vail one year and participated in a personality profile exercise. After describing what we were most like and least like it was determined that I liked to start things and wasn't too concerned about their finish and Al liked to finish things, getting all the T's crossed and I's dotted. We just looked at each other and together yelled at the same time "They been using us!" We all got a good laugh but Al and I were a very good team.
Those were the days of the introduction of the Rubic Cube. One of the electricians brought one to the trailer at lunch and no one coule fix the darned thing. Al asked to take it home and came back the next day with it fixed. We all thought he had pulled the stickers off it but no matter how many turns one took to un-fix it, Al could get it back in just a matter of a few minutes.
Al's other claim to fame was to break a banana in half. Others tried but all failed with a big mess but even black ripe bananas were no match for Al.
We had such a great time together playing golf and car pooling to work. To his credit he never saw a bowling ball or a beer he didn't like. I knew other bowlers that would drop out of father-daughter tournaments if they saw Al and one of his girls there. He was a vicious bowler, the happiest golfer and the proud papa of an ultralite. I helped him take his "plane" to a parade in Indian Hill for the fourth of July. Al was a great electrician, someone you could count on to give you a good days work and a fun day at golf. Your dream of owning a bowling alley in Wisconson never materalized but I know you enjoyed every day of life. We'll catch up again someday soon, Tom Fletcher

I danced with Al in at a piano recital, probably when we were nine and 10. He was taking accordian lessions from the same teacher who taught me piano. We danced again in Junior High after lunch was over. Al was my first big crush.
Sympathy to you and his girls. That was a very nice obituary.

Fish-fry Fridays with All & Marilyn will always be held as fun times for us.
Also remembered are those snow-days when he would tirelessly & kindly
do his neighbor's driveways besides his own!
See you in the next realm, Al.
Be well, Marilyn!
