Michael E. Anderson: 01/25/1946 - 10/03/2021

 

Mike was 75 when he passed. Survived by his brother, Jerry (Carolyn), and a nephew Paul Anderson (Vera), and a niece Amy Green (Damon). Amy's children are Miranda, Alexander and Anthony.

 

Mike was born in Denver,Colorado, attended public schools and graduated from West High School in Denver),1964.

He worked as a dish washer from 1964 to 1965 at Presbyterian Hospital, and at Russell Stover Candy Company from

1965 to 1968.

 

Since Mike was going to be drafted into the Army, he decided to join the Navy and served two years from 1966 to 1968.

He served on the USS Lowry, a destroyer and was stationed off the coast of North Vietnam for some time. He was glad to serve

in the Navy and received several noted medals.

 

When returning home, he got a job at Mountain Bell Denver for two or three months. He applied for a Public Service Company of 

Colorado job, took and passed correspondence tests and then was employed by the company in March 1969. He worked for

Public Service Company which became X-Cel Energy Company for about 38 years.

 

Mike was married in 1972, but later divorced. He met a medical technician Dorothy Moore at the Public Service Company Health Clinic where the employees went.They became close friends and lived at Dorothy's house until her death in July, 2018.

 

Mike moved back to his house on 535 Perry Street and lived there until his death on Sunday, October 3, 2021.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Lydia, and brother, Russell Earl, Jr. 

 

Mike always knew how  to bring light and laughter into a room and will be missed.
