Obituary of Beatrice C. Rafdal

Beatrice C. Rafdal was born in Cumberland, Wisconsin to William Ward and Lillian Coburn on December 28, 1918. She was the second of four daughters.

She was known as Bea to her friends and Aunt Bea Bea to her many nieces and nephews.

Bea married Alton T. Rafdal on August 21, 1948 in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Rafdal's moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1951. The following year Bea was baptized into Christ, Jesus. By 1957 the Lord had blessed them with two daughters and two sons. Donna Linda (Pete Morin), Mary Helen (Charley Buckley), Thomas Ward (Merry Rafdal), and Rodney Daniel (Misa Rafdal)

Later in their lives the Lord furthered their joy with two granddaughters, Melissa and Megan Buckley. God blessed Bea with an extra long life. She lived 102 years, 9 months and 8 days. He called her to Himself and her Heavenly home on October 5, 2021 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. She had gone to the hospital after a fall in her home to be examined. She had broken no bones but was in considerable pain so she was spending the night.

As was her general countenance, she was laughing and joking and in good spirits, according to her nurse, just a half hour before she was found to had slipped the bonds of our world.

She was preceeded in death by her three sisters, Grace, Mary, and Helen; her husband of 61 years, Alton (2009), and her son, Rodney (2012).

The funeral service will be at Faith Lutheran Church 4785 Elm Ct. Denver, Colorado, 80211. The viewing will begin at 10am with the funeral beginning at 11am.

Following the Funeral Service there will be a Committal Service at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Pavilion A, at 1pm. Bea will be buried with Alton.

Friends and family are invited to return to the church for a gathering downstairs in The Fellowship Hall at approximatley 2pm. A lift is provided for those who struggle with stairs.
