Stevie’s mom used to take my mom and me grocery shopping every two weeks. Neither of my parents drove. Stevie’s mom always brought Stevie or one of his siblings. She drove a VW bug.
The adults sat up front, groceries were put in the back seat and I got to sit in what we called “the way back seat” with a Stevie or one of his siblings. Being snug in the bug was always a fun time for me.
As an adult, I got to see Stevie at a family barbecues. He was an excellent chef.
We mailed greeting cards to each other for birthdays and the holidays.
I only seem to have one photo of Stevie which I’ll post here. It’s from the mid 1960’s I love the gentle expression on his face and his hand gesture as his big sisters tease him a bit. This photo is “so Stevie” to me - always good natured, always kind.
I love and miss you, sweet nephew.

I loved my cousin so much. I have so many memories as children, young adults and now. At grandpa's Bacas house, Uncle Dave and Aunt Grace's house and then at Aunt Audrey's house and Cozy Corner. Before my mom died he asked me to do a family project together ( putting everyone's photos together ) he worked so hard at it and it was a brilliant idea......I enjoy those pictures often. I love you Stevie......always good never hard on anyone and was there when Audrey passed away and my mom and dad. I remember at Aunt Audrey's wake JDs daughter needed insulin and you dropped everything to take her to go get it. You were always doing random acts of kindness and I am humble to have been your cousin. Bless your heart of gold......Love JB.
