Pete you were my friend. I have fond memories of our time in C Battery 1/12th. The years at Fort Sill and trips to Whitesands for live fires. Playing soccer for the Battalion was awesome…except loosing to the Germans…lol May God give you peace…Sending prayers to your family.

Mr. C was my math teacher when he taught at greenwood academy. I remember being excited to be in his class because he was also my sister’s teacher. She spoke very well of him and he met up to those expectations. He pushed my sister to be a good student and excel in all her classes, and that’s what she did. She graduated with a near 4.0 gpa and got her associates degree one year after she graduated high school. She was very hardworking and super successful in her studies and it was thanks to his motivation. It really stuck with her all throughout the years. She will continue her studies in the spring but I know she will continue to hold him in her heart and so will I.

The last ten years with Pete was everything from amazing to incredibly frustrating and downright discouraging. I knew him at his best and arguably his worst. I'm choosing to look back and bask in the memories that make me smile and those that I will miss dearly. Pete was a determined "go for a walk" kind of guy and I will look fondly on our walks after work with the dogs as we all discussed our days and listened to him rave about some kiddo or cool new hip thing he learned about from his kids. I will always appreciate that he would listen to any new music or watch a new movie even though he didn't like it at all. Blasting Natalie Merchant at max volume in the house and singing along far too loud while Andrea wore ear plus is something I will never forget and will never stop doing. John Wick will be a movie that reminds me of Pete from now on because after watching it he immediately asked if we could watch it again. Our talks will be held close as we had some difficult ones that helped us both process some of our past situations. The jealous moments we had with each other when the other obtained a new florescent pink item and it was just so cool. I will always remember how selfless Pete was by helping me often whether it was installing a new hot water heater, fixing nearly anything, being so kind to my dog, cleaning up after my wedding, and just trying to be his best when he could. Bike rides, bright colors, new shoes, and horribly mismatched outfits also describe Pete and for that I smile.
