Obituary of Joan Arnold Kuykendall

   Joan Arnold Kuykendall, 88, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed into the presence of her Lord on May 16, 2022. She was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on August 18, 1933 and lived most of her early life in Enfield, Connecticut where she graduated from high school. She became a registered nurse, graduating from Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. In July of 1955, she married Rex Kuykendall and was blessed with three children.

In the years following her marriage, Joan became a Christian, trusting the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Her life from then on was dedicated to serving her Lord as her pastor husband’s helpmeet in church-planting, ladies’ ministries, and teaching in Christian schools.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Rex Kuykendall, her children-Randy and Kathy Kuykendall of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Glen and Rhonda Kuykendall of Austin, Texas and Lisa and Kenneth Neal of Westerville, Ohio; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours are 8:00AM Monday, May 23, 2022 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 4280 Hopeful Drive Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.

Services will be held immediately following the visitation at 9:00AM, Monday, May 23, 2022 at Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Interment at Pikes Peak National Cemetery will be at 11:00AM, Monday, May 23, 2022 at 10545 Drennan Road Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
