Obituary of Frederick "Fred" Leo Poole

Fred Poole left this life on July 23, 2022 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to be with Jesus. He was born on January 9, 1938 in Boone County, Kentucky to Henry Raymond Poole and Mildred (Tabor) Poole. He was a hard-working, blue-collar guy who provided for his family, led men in the construction industry and worked on some of the most iconic structures in the Pikes Peak area including as a carpenter foreman at NORAD, superintendent on the original fieldhouse on the top of Pikes Peak, and he helped build the Holly Sugar Building (renamed The First Bank Building) in downtown Colorado Springs. Fred loved to sing gospel music to everyone he met. His favorite hymn was How Great Thou Art.

Fred is preceded in death by family members: Henry and Mildred Poole, Michael Poole, Thomas Poole, Louis Poole, David Poole and Steven Poole.

Those left behind to cherish Fred’s memory are loving wife, Mary Poole; children: Bret Poole, Bart Poole, Todd Poole, Trent Poole and Rebekah Poole; sisters: Mary Jo Hall, Patricia Patterson and Rita Nienaber; brother, William Poole; 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 10:00AM with a funeral service immediately following at 10:30AM at Timberline Baptist Church 512 Canon Ave. Manitou Springs, CO 80829.

A private burial will take place at a later date at Pikes Peak National Cemetery.
