Eileen Joy Spillane

October 30, 1939-August 29, 2022

Eileen J. Spillane, the daughter of Emily Violet Boyle and John William Hanrahan passed away in her sleep at the Colorado State Veteran’s Home on August 29, 2022 where she has lived for the past 4 years.

Eileen was born in Colorado on October 30, 1939 with her twin sister Emily Warner. Eileen attended Holy Family High School in Denver, CO and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing where she graduated as a Registered Nurse in Durango, CO. She worked much of her career at National Jewish Hospital in Denver, Colorado.

Eileen joined the Airforce in 1968 and served 20 years, including service overseas in Vietnam. She was awarded numerous medals including the Air Medal of Meritorious Achievement while participating in Arial Flight; she ultimately retired as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Eileen is preceded in death by her husband Mike Spillane, parents Emily and John, her brothers Jack and Dick and her twin sister Emily. She is survived by her brother Miles and Dennis Hanrahan, her many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog, Max.
