Obituary of Norris Dewitt LaNier

Norris Dewitt LaNier 

Norris Dewitt LaNier, age 73, passed on August 27, 2022. He arrived into this world on May 19, 1949, born to Norris LaNier and Lydia Patterson in Detroit, MI.

Dewitt, as he was known, was larger than life, full of energy, and always lived life to the fullest. He proudly served as an Army Airborne Ranger in the Vietnam War. During his time in the war, Dewitt also served as a communication specialist and sharp shooter.

In addition to his parents, Dewitt was predeceased by his brother, Gerald LaNier. He is survived by his wife, Debra Allison, sister, Jacquelyn Ingram, brothers, Raynard Sr and Issa LaNier. Dewitt leaves behind his son, Dewitt Jackson, his step-children, Sky Arce and Jonathan Mendoza, and five grandchildren. There are several in-laws, nieces, nephews and extended family members that will miss him dearly.

Dewitt loved his family and friends with a passion. He will forever be loved and missed, may he continue to look down on us and smile.
