Obituary of Betty Jane Bear

Betty Jane Bear passed peacefully from this life into the presence of our Lord on September 3rd, 2022 at the age of 100 at Mount Saint Francis Nursing Center in Colorado Springs.

Betty was born on September 29, 1921 in Drakes, Ohio where she spent her childhood with her parents John and Margaret Adams, and her two sisters; Margaret, Corinne and brother Robert. Her fondest memory was picking blueberries for her mother's famous pies.

Our mom met Robert E. Bear Sr. in Columbus, Ohio after World War II. They moved to California until the untimely passing of our father in 1968. Mom relocated to Colorado Springs following Robert & Lucille in 1993, but her heart was always in California. 

She is survived by her two sons, Robert and Mark Bear, her daughter-in-laws, Lucille & Susan, her grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, Austin, Melissa, Daniel, Nathan, Christopher and her great grandchildren Jocelyn, Tenley, Remy, Kingsley, Quinn, Eloise and Cecilia. 

Betty was a strong Matriarch of our family. She loved visits with her sons' families and spoke frequently of them. She was proud to be a "Coal Miners Daughter" and shared that with everyone she met. 

She will be interred at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills, next to our dad, in January 2023.
