Obituary of Judith Elaine Aschenberg

Judith Elaine Aschenberg, 79, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2022 in Parker, Colorado. She was born on January 6, 1943 in Alameda, California to James and Charlene Kay. She grew up in Burbank, California. Judy graduated from Westmont College and enjoyed teaching for many years. After retirement, she served as the receptionist for Calvary Church in Aurora where she was a dedicated member.

Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Aschenberg. She is survived by her son Mathew Aschenberg and his wife Katherine Aschenberg, her son Jesse Aschenberg and his wife Christina Aschenberg, and her daughter Anessa King and her husband Matt King. She was grandmother to Brett, Zachary, Grace, Haley, Luke, Sarah, Kyra, Peter, Elim, Faith, Logan and Audrey and great-grandmother to Cortez.

Judy lived her life to serve God and others. In addition to her faithful service to her home church, she was a missionary for a few years in Papua New Guinea in the early 80’s with her family. She regularly attended bible study groups with her close friends from church. Judy was always available with a listening ear and a hug if you needed it and had a candid perspective to share with you. She has said countless prayers for family members and loved ones and been there to talk through many good and tough times. She was loyal, especially to those she called family. She loved to play games and did not believe in “letting anyone win or slide”- if you won against Judy, it was an accomplishment, as she was a master in many games- from Cribbage to Scrabble.

The family will receive friends for her memorial service at 11am on Saturday,October 22, 2022 at Calvary Church; 18900 E Hampden Ave, Aurora CO 80013.
