Obituary of Delbert "Del" Dale McIntyre

Del McIntyre, 92, went home on Oct. 4, 2022, surrounded by family and cared for with dignity and love by the team at Pikes Peak Hospice.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy McIntyre, two daughters, Elaine Streeter and Amy Lathen, 2 sons-in-law, Michael Streeter and Bob Lathen, 6 grandchildren, Emily Lathen, Nicholas Lathen (married to Anna Lathen), Brandon Streeter, Gavin Streeter, Grant Streeter, Zachary Lathen and one great grandson, Wilder Lathen.

Del served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant.  He married Judy in 1962 in Omaha and later moved to Ogallala, Nebraska, where he built their home with his own hands and worked for TRW Electronics Co.  In 1984, Del and Judy moved their family to Colorado Springs, where they have resided ever since. 

A consummate gardener, Del is well known by all who loved him as the best source of sweet corn, tomatoes and zucchini in the region!  There was nothing that he couldn’t grow.  Del is a follower of his Savior, Jesus Christ and has been an enthusiastic and joyful member of his church for decades. He loved his family beyond measure and will be dearly missed.

Services for Del will be held on Nov. 4^th, 2022, at Academy Christian Church at 11:30am, followed by inurnment at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery at 2:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Pikes Peak Hospice, and in remembrance of Del, he asks three things: to read the Holy Bible to understand Christ’s love and freedom; to read the US Constitution to understand American freedom; and to teach the next generation these two things.
