Obituary of George Marvin Douglas

George Marvin Douglas, age 86, passed away at his home on October 7, 2022.  George was born in Soperton, GA to his loving parents, Julian and Harvie Douglas, both deceased.  He lived for many years in Belton, MO, finally settling in Colorado Springs, CO area. 

George was an amazing person touching so many lives and making friends wherever he went. He loved traveling, and all things mechanical.  He retired from Myron Stratton home of Colorado Springs in 1999.  Upon retirement, he and Janet started Douglas Investments, a wholesale vehicle business, which was supposed to be part-time, but evolved into a very full time business.  When he retired once again in late 2013, he was employed by Maroone auto dealership for several years. 

George leaves behind his loving wife Janet Douglas whom he shared a whole lifetime in a short 25 years.  His first wife, Nadine pre-deceased him in 1995.  He also leaves behind a stepdaughter Joelle Stanton of Yoder, CO; a daughter Julie and husband Greg Winslow of Longmont, CO; a daughter Kelley Buchart of Denver, CO area; 8 grand children and several great-grands; sister Mary Ann and husband C.W. King of Chippewa Falls, WI.

Burial will be a private service at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
