Obituary of Geraldine Margaret Rohrer

At age 87, Gerrie died peacefully with her husband, children and one grandchild at her bedside, on October 8th, 2022, at Medical Center of the Rockies Hospital in Loveland, Colorado.  After falling at home the day after her birthday, her health quickly declined.

Gerrie was born on September 15th, 1935 in Denver, Colorado to Howard and Margaret Sutliff. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1953 and later received an Associates Degree at Colorado A&M (now CSU). 

She worked as a medical secretary for the director of Denver General Hospital and as a secretary/receptionist at Colorado Hospital and Rose Memorial Hospital in Denver.  In Oklahoma City, she worked at various medical jobs and a child care facility. 

In Colorado Springs, she was a real estate sales person and co-owner of Spring Valley Realty. 

Gerrie was happily married to Charles (Chuck) W. Rohrer, who was her partner in life for sixty years.

Gerrie is survived by her husband, three children, two granddaughters, one sister, two daughters-in-law, and one brother-in-law.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Gerrie enjoyed dancing the Hustle, the West Coast Swing, and numerous line dances for thirty years.  When scoliosis and osteoporosis took over her life, she enjoyed singing Karaoke with her husband every weekend for the last fifteen years.

Gerrie was a faithful Catholic and never purposely missed a weekend or Holy Day of Obligation Mass.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass celebrating Gerrie’s life on Friday, November 11th, at Our Lady Of The Valley Catholic Church in Windsor Colorado at 11:00 AM. The church is located at 1250 7th Street, Windsor, Colorado 80550 and there will be a reception with food and beverages at the church afterwards.
