James Newton Carnahan

 

James Newton Carnahan was born on March 21st, 1938 in Pontiac, Michigan to Charles and Pearl Carnahan. He attended elementary through High School in Centerline Michigan and graduated in 1956.  He went on to join the Air Force and received a medical discharge after only 15 months.  He met Dorothy Von Ehrenkrook in January of 1957 and they were married that same year on July 5th. They had three children, Keith, Beth and Kevin and adopted a 4th, Sharon.  James received a Bachelor of Arts from Rockmont College in 1965 and attended Denver Seminary, Graduating with a Masters of Divinity in 1969.  He went on to pastor churches in Venango Nebraska, Meeteetse Wyoming and Austin Colorado.

 

He passed away after a long illness on October, 23rd 2022 at the age of 84, in the presence of his wife, Dorothy and in the home of his daughter, Beth and her husband, Daniel Castillo.  His Granddaughter, Danee Castillo was also present.  He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his two sons, Keith and Kevin, his Daughter, Beth, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
