Obituary of Carol Mary Billiard

Our beloved Carol Mary Billiard passed away on January 14, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born on February 2, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to loving parents Edward Szczepaniak and Estelle "Stella" Wisnieweki. 

Preceding Carol in passing are her parents Edward Szczepaniak and Stella Wisnieweki, faithful husband's Charlie Owens and Francis Billiard and children Mary Jo Butler, David Owens, Jeffrey Owens and Gery Owens. 

Those left behind to honor and cherish Carol's memory are children; Edward Owens, Dennis Owens, Kenneth Owens, Rodger Owens and Asterisk Owens, step children; Frank (Nancy) Billiard, Larry (Elaine) Billiard, Patricia K. (J. Patrick) Kelly, Fr. Don Billiard OFM, John W. (Judy) Billiard, Paul J. (Lesley) Billiard, Michael (Lisa) Billiard, Phillip A. (Julia) Billiard and Eileen (McCloud) Stephens, 25 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. 

Carol proudly served our country by enlisting in the United States Army where she worked as a cook before her honorable discharge. 

Carol also was extremely smart and after graduating from high school went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Nutrition. She will fondly be remembered as being a top blood donor for both church and hospital donations as well as having a beautiful voice in her local choir group. Her favorite colors were baby blue and pink. She also was very active in her local church, Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado for many years. 

A viewing followed by the praying of the rosary will take place on Thursday January 19, 2023 at The Springs Funeral Services 3115 E. Platte Ave. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909. A memorial mass will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at 10:30AM at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church 11020 Teachout Road Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908. Inurnment will take place immediately following the memorial mass at 12:00PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery 10545 Drennan Rd. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
