My sympathy, condolences, and prayers to Julie, Diane, James and all the Burdick and Cummings families. My times with Bobby were fun, a few sad times, but always memorable. He always called me "brother" and I felt like I was one. I am a year older so I called him "little brother". He responds: "But I'm bigger than you". And he was in many ways. He will be missed. RIP Bobby - God bless and keep you.

Bobby—Bobby—Bobby
My cousin:brother: you were much loved and enjoyed by us…but especially by my Dad! As Jackie alluded …”the boy Dad did not have”
You did have a “nasty “ habit of eating mustard on EVERYTHING… even your cereal…that was hard to stomach in the early morning hours!
The summer you fell for MY best girlfriend was memorable. I loved your glancing smile; lake trips; days “on the farm “
I’ll miss you Bobby.

It was always all of Big Bob’s family in Colorado. We took summer trips and Dick went hunting in the mountains in season. This meant the whole family was together. They were a special part of our life and we were always made welcome.
Summers became special in their own way: at first Bob’s family came to the farm to stay with Mother and Dad Burdick. Later they would visit us at the farm.
Bobby became the “boy” we never had; one of the family. Later we kept “up to date” by phone. I already miss Bobby’s calls that usually started : “ how in the heck are you”!

My earliest memory of Bobby was age 4, a tiny blonde boy, standing on raised hearth, strumming a plastic guitar, singing and dancing to Elvis’ Ain’t nothing but a hound dog! Michigan summers; playing catch ( I got a black eye); camping in the pouring rain storm in an old army tent; swimming in freezing Lake Superior; mustard on EVERYTHING!!

Bobby was the brother we Michigan Burdick girls did not have. During our teenage years Bobby spent summers at the “farm” with us. Memories of my Bobby: mustard… on everything; BIG man…fireman mustache… huge red Harley…cocky , mischievous smile…heart as big as he was tall… patriot…Missing you already… missing our phone chats…missing Bobby!

Uncle Bobby was a true example of an American hero. The countless lives he saved as a fireman sure have made this world a better place.
He was also a the best uncle one could hope for. He was goofy, edgy and above all loving.
