Obituary of Ronald Eugene Sterrett

Ronald Eugene Sterrett, age 88, of Centennial, CO, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at home.

Ronald was born May 19, 1934 in Bluffton, OH, to Charles O. and Mildred L. (Pratt) Sterrett. He attended Dola High School in Hardin, OH and after graduation went on to Ohio State University. In 1953 he enlisted in the United States Air Force specializing in flight line support, security services, voice interceptions (Chinese), parachute training and photo processing. He had one-year tours of duty in Thailand and Greenland. He earned an associate degree in Radar Technology. With twenty-five years of service, he retired in 1978 with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. After this, he went on to be a dedicated public servant with the United States Postal Service. Ronald was a long-time member of East Alameda Church of Christ. He enjoyed bowling, learning to play new instruments and followed sumo wrestling devotedly.

Ronald is survived by his wonderful wife of almost 66 years, Masako (Nagayama) Sterrett who he met while stationed near Hachioji, Japan in 1957; daughter Debra Wells (spouse Rick) of Evergreen, CO; son Joseph Sterrett (spouse Brittiany) of Arvada, CO; brother Thomas Sterrett (spouse Donna Rae) of Lake Tahoe, CA; 4 grandchildren: and 1 great grandchild.

Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred Sterrett; and by his sister, Kay Shearer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 7, 2023, at East Alameda Church of Christ, 13605 E Alameda Ave, Aurora, CO.

Friends may visit from 10:30 AM until the Service time, Friday, April 7, 2023, at East Alameda Church of Christ.
