Obituary of Linda Jane Green

Linda Jane Green passed away suddenly April 2, 2023. She was born May 14, 1948 to Fray Lee Roberts and Edith Mae (Holstein) Roberts in Coonskin Holler, West Virginia. The family moved to Colorado when Linda was three years old. She attended various schools and graduated from North High School in 1966.

Linda worked for a number of companies before becoming a title officer for Security Title Guaranty Company and later as an Executive Assistant at Colorado Central Credit Union. After taking several years off to become a mother to our beautiful daughters, she returned to work as a real estate closer and office manager for Security Title and later for Fidelity Title. She retired at age 62 and enjoyed every second of her time until her untimely demise.

Linda was a loving mother, grand-mother and wife. She loved her grand children without reservation and spent as much time with them as possible. She did not have a green thumb but she loved to supervise the planting of her spring flowers so that she could gaze at them each morning. She also loved to supervise our daughters when they cooked holiday meals, as she had finally learned how to delegate. Until her dying day she was the Boss of the Potatoes (family joke).

Linda loved to read mystery novels and watch mysteries on television, especially those with assertive lady detectives. She enjoyed a wide variety of music, talking to her many friends on the telephone, going to lunch and getting her nails done. She loved to gamble, win all your money at poker, paint, write poetry and make everyone laugh. She gave the best big ol’ mama hugs. She was a live wire who could and would talk to anyone about anything. She did not allow a conversation to lag. She will be missed and always remembered with love and respect.

She is survived by her husband Edwin, two daughters Amanda M. Green and Elizabeth I. (Andrew) Martin, two grand children Phoenix Mackenzie Martin and Melvin Harrison Martin, brother Fray (Skip) Roberts and sisters-in-law Elizabeth (John) Roberts and Kelly (David) Roberts. She was pre-deceased by her parents Fray and Edith Roberts, brothers John and David Roberts and sister-in-law Patsy (Skip) Roberts.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM, April 15, 2023, at The Church at Hidden Lake, 4411 West 64th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80003. A reception will follow after the service; feel free to bring a dish to share. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Girls Inc. of Metro Denver, Make a Wish Foundation or a food bank of your choice.
