Obituary of Alfred Benjamin Rubio

Alfred Benjamin Rubio (Ben) of Lakewood, Colorado passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30th, 2023.

Ben is survived by his daughters Lorraine (Gerardo Pacheco), Regina Rubio, and Georgia (Patricio Pacheco), sister MaryAnne (John Apodaca) brother Henry Rubio and grandchildren Monique Lefthandbull, Gerrardo Pacheco Jr, Manuel Ruiz, Tiffany Abeyta, Dinelle Ruiz, Justine Ruiz, Edward Abeyta III, Gabriella Abeyta and 6 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

Ben is preceeded in death by his parents Alfredo and Regina Rubio, loving sister Grace Whitemon and nephew Danny Rubio.

Ben was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on January 23, 1942. He graduated from West High School and joined the Army as a Paratrooper. When he returned from serving his country, he joined the Denver Sheriffs Department in 1966. He retired after 35 years of service in 2001.

Ben was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren taking them shopping, going out to eat, watching old western movies and listening to his favorite music. Conway Twitty, Dolly Pardon, Fats Domino, Garth Brooks just to name a few.
