Obituary of Philip Mangone

Philip (Phil) Louis Mangone was born on September 1, 1935 to parents, Elizabeth Ann Mangone (Sommerfield) and Philip Victor Mangone in the Bronx, New York. Phil was proud to share that he was born at home on the kitchen table. Phil passed peacefully in the early morning hours of May 10, 2023 while being cared for by the dedicated and compassionate staff at The Springs at St Andrew’s Village and Denver Hospice.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Arthur, as well as his wife, Mary and their beloved dog, Ben. Phil is survived by two sons, Paul (David) and Philip (Barbra), in addition to his grandchildren, Wendy, Becky (Justin), Tim and two great-grandchildren, Chason and Brooklyn.

Phil had fulfilling careers in the US Air Force and in the Colorado Bureau of Investigation as a computer operator.

Phil’s Air Force career led him to meet his wife, Mary, who was born and raised in Ireland, while he was stationed in London, England. Phil and Mary were married for almost 48 years before her passing in 2008.

For over 40 years, Phil enjoyed camping in his various RVs. There were numerous road trips around the US with family and friends from their RV travel group, Winnebago/Itasca International Travelers.

Philip will be buried at Ft Logan National Cemetery. Per his wishes there will not be a service.
