Obituary of Edna Lorraine Trulos

We are sad to announce the passing of Edna Loraine (Smith) Trulos, 86, of Commerce City, Colorado. She found peace on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at her home. Edna was born April 27,1937 in Lebanon, NE. to Herschel & Ona (Cox) Smith.

Edna grew up in Oberlin, KS she had 4 siblings, Sharon, Dixie, Larry & Jim. Edna moved to Virginia after school to start her career, There she Met and Married Mike Trulos on November 4, 1956 in Alexandria, VA. Where Mike was in the Army. When Mike got out of the Army they moved back to Kansas.

Edna took a break from work and raised 5 children Cindy, Michael, Annette, Tracey, and George. Once all her children were in school, she returned to work at Alco Discount Store doing their advertisement paper, then she moved on to the Air Force Accounting and Finance Center at Lowery Air Force Base. Edna enjoyed her work. Edna loved the Denver Broncos and her coworkers (service men & women) had fun leaving gifts on her desk after Bronco games. When they would lose, she would come in to find a smashed orange crush can on her desk. She enjoyed her work and her coworkers greatly. Edna retired on September 9, 1994.

Edna’s great joy in life was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you wanted to see her face light up and a smile from ear to ear just have a great grandchild walk in to spend time.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Mike, son George, brother Jim & his wife Janet, Son in law Dave, brother in laws Lyman Black and Ron Snyder.

Edna is survived by her children, Cindy Norman, Michael & Suni Trulos, Annette & Rocky Biggs, Tracey & Don Brown, Sisters Sharon Black, Dixie Snyder, Brother Larry Smith, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:30am, Monday, June 12, 2023 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Please meet at Staging Area B no later than 11:15am.
