Obituary of Ruth Gisela Aultman

Ruth was born October 6, 1925 in Rosenburg, Germany and was adopted as a baby by Walter and Margerate Feldsman. She grew up in the East German town of Flatow, which is now part of Poland. During the war she worked in the Red Cross where she met her husband, Frank Heyden, who had been wounded.  Frank immigrated to Canada after the Russian invasion and Ruth followed with their children, Christian and Rosemarie.  They later immigrated to the US and lived in Niagra Falls.

Ruth continued to work in nursing as an LPN and scrub nurse as they relocated to Spokane, WA where she and Frank later divorced.  She went on to marry and divorce Harold Stallings in Spokane and Gordon Mode in Denver.  She continued her education and earned a BA and MA from UNC in Greeley, CO and has a 20+ year career with the State of Colorado.  In 1983 she married Vincent Aultman and lived in Arvada until 1995 when they moved to Las Vegas, NV.  They fancied themselves as gamblers!

Vincent passed away in 1995, but Ruth remained in Las Vegas where she enjoyed the warm weather! She hated the cold and snow! In her retirement years she traveled to Africa, Alaska, Costa Rica, Hawaii and many other states. But her real passion was for dogs.  She tried to breed toy poodles but found it too difficult to let them go.  At one point she had 8! She was never without one by her side. She was a major contributor to the building of the Lied Animal Shelter in Las Vegas. In recent years she returned to Arvada to be close to family.

Ruth Gisela Aultman passed away May 15, 2023.  She was preceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Margerate Feldsman, brother Adlebert Tuchel and husband Vincent.  She is survived by her 2 children, son Christian Heyden (Jan) and daughter Rosemarie Olson (Ken) and step son Vincent Aultman, Jr. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Ellen Measles (Dirk) and Jacob Heyden (Cat); 5 great grandchildren, Jackson, Austin, Whitney, Abigail and Colton; 1 great great grandchild, James Bear Measles. Numerous nieces and nephews in Canada.

May you rest in peace and enjoy your forever after with your furry friends.  We love you mom!
