Obituary of Kenneth Eugene Schlauch

Kenneth Eugene Schlauch

Ken was born in Medina, ND to Fred and Martha Schlauch on January 27, 1934 and passed away at home on November 28, 2023. 

Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Clarene; sisters, Ruby Jacobs, Harriet Chadwick, Marlys Junker and Irma Kinkaid; and brothers, Irvin, Morris and Walter Schlauch.  He grew up in Wilton, ND and graduated from Wilton High School in 1952.  He joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1956. 

He married Clarene Varholdt in 1957 in Denver, CO and lived in Golden, CO for the remainder of his life.  He worked at Coors Brewing Company for 34 years, retiring in 1997.  He and Clarene had two daughters, Jackie Murphy and Janet Schlauch.  Ken enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, working crossword puzzles and spending time camping and traveling in his RV with his family.  Ken is survived by his two daughters, four grandchildren: Katie Murphy (Vaughan Howard), Aidan Murphy (Ashleigh), Richard Schlauch (Brittni Wood) and Danielle Blom (Jesse), five great-grandchildren, Oliver and Cora Howard, Joseph Schlauch and Ryland Wood, Noah Murphy and Everleigh Abney: one sister, Lois Ereth and two brothers, Harold and Al Schlauch (Donna). 

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 21, 500 9^th Street, Golden, CO 80403.
