Obituary of George L Donnahoo Jr.

George "Larry" Donnahoo, Jr., 79, of Evergreen, CO, passed away on November 30, 2023 from Alzheimer's disease. Born on November 16, 1944, in St. Petersburg, Florida, Larry was a kind, loyal, and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was known for his frugality, sense of humor, inquisitive nature, and sharp intellect.

Larry is survived by his daughter Kirstan, son Matthew, and siblings Brian, Karen, and Doug. He was preceded in death by his brother Gary and his wife Beth. Larry had a strong educational background, having obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in aerospace engineering, and an MBA from George Washington University.

Having served in the Army, Larry had a distinguished military career. His commitment and dedication were commendable, and he was respected by his military associates.

Following his military service, Larry pursued a career as a pilot at United Airlines from 1969 to 2004, and retired as a captain on the Boeing 777. He also had a passion for software design and development . In his free time, Larry enjoyed reading, playing golf, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and learning to speak French.

A ceremony to honor Larry's life will be held on December 18, 2023, at 3:00 pm at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, located at 3698 S. Sheridan Blvd, Denver, CO, 80235.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation of America in memory of Larry. George "Larry" Donnahoo, Jr. will be deeply missed by his loved ones, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
