Robert James Warren, 61, of Thornton, Colorado, passed away on November 21, 2023, in the comfort of his home with his wife Shelley, stepson Kyle, and his dogs Rozey and BooBear by his side, after a lengthy illness that he battled until the very end. He married his soulmate, best friend and love, Shelley (Myers-Estey) on November 20, 2015, and happily became a stepfather to Kyle (Estey).

Born January 30, 1962 to William and Emma Warren, he was a brother to William Warren (Susan), Carolyn Berglund (Richard), Susan Adams (Bob), Ellen Beckham (Vaughn), and Robin Swearingin, Son in law to Dennis and Kathy Myers, brother in Law to Jenny (Cory) Haubert, Jeff (Mandy) Myers, Uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, nieces and nephews in law.

Bob grew up in Northglenn, Colorado, and graduated from Thornton High School in 1980. Bob joined the United States Marine Corps via delayed entry prior to his graduating from high school, dedicating himself to serving his country for 8 years both in active duty and reserves. Bob achieved the rank of Sergeant, and his MOS was 3531 Motor T / motor vehicle operator. Bob was proud to be a Marine, displaying his USMC flag outside of his home, as well as many pictures and pieces of USMC memorabilia that he gathered during his time in service throughout his home. Bob loved his Marine Corps and everything they stood for. He also loved being at sea and obtained the Domain of the Golden Dragon Certificate as well as becoming a Shellback. He sailed with the 7th fleet, exploring the world during his numerous deployments. His duty station during his service was Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. His first ship was the USS Belleau Wood LHA-3, his favorite ship was the USS Thomaston LSD-28, his nickname was Wally/Wallygaytor.

Bob worked at JCPenney’s at Northglenn Mall from the age of 16 and became the maintenance supervisor not only of this store but several others during his many years of employment with the company before his separation of service. Later in his work career he joined Penske Truck Leasing and worked his way up the ladder starting off as a fueler and advancing to a Class A / Tech I diesel/semi mechanic. He was a union steward with Teamsters Local 455 for 20 + years where he actively lobbied for union member rights and issues at the State Capital, often speaking with legislators regarding workers rights and workplace fairness within union standards. As a result of his falling ill, he was forced to take disability and an early retirement from Penske after 23 years of service.

Bob was a true animal lover and very much loved his dogs Rozey and BooBear, who miss him daily and were watching over him until he took his journey to Heaven. During his lifetime he had many dogs that he was very fond of, but he dearly missed his Mr. Shep and spoke of him often.
