Obituary of Stanislaus Mardian

Stanislaus Mardian (Stan), aged 95, died peacefully in his home on December 16, 2023, surrounded by his family.  He leaves behind his wife Beverly (nee Jones) of 72 years, daughters Victoria Michaels of St Louis and Cynthia Mardian of Denver, grandsons Kyle L. Brown (Christine) and Keith H. Brown, all of Missouri, and great-grandsons: Ethan, Owen, and Aiden, all of St Louis.  He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Anton Mardian and Martha (nee Schmidt), as well as his siblings: Wendelin (Eva), Agnes (Clarence Schaeffer), Karoline (Fred Peabody), Anton (Barbara), Paul (Mary), Helen (Stanley Alford), Jakob (Goldie), John (Hildegard) and Pauline.

Born in a farmhouse near Roscoe, South Dakota on June 22, 1928, he lived on the farm for his first 16 years, plowed fields with horse drawn equipment, and attended a one room school.  As a child he lived through both the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression.  In early adulthood he served in the Army during the Korean War and became a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He was later a resident of his adopted state of Colorado for 66 years. 

A licensed journeyman electrician; he was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 65 years.  He was the electrical foreman on numerous building projects throughout the Denver area, training many apprentices.  Wiring missile sites in eastern Colorado and underground structures at NORAD in Colorado Springs were among his proudest accomplishments.  He was a builder and real estate investor in the Denver area.   

In his later years he kept busy maintaining his rental properties, doing home maintenance projects for family, socializing with friends and extended family, and traveling with his wife in their RV.  With his fellow ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) he honed his already accomplished pool playing skills.            

Services will be held at Ft Logan National Cemetery on April 11, 2024 at 2:00.
