Anne Bradbury

Obituary of Anne Bradbury

Anne Bradbury, 91, of Fountain, Colorado passed away on December 12, 2023 after suffering from dementia for several years.

Anne was born on April 28, 1932 to Russell and Elizabeth Locigno in Rochester, New York. After Anne graduated from high school she went to college where she learned various office and business skills.

She had a wide variety of jobs that included driving school, working in the cafeteria at Wasson High School, and retail. She had a shop in Old Colorado City where she sold many of her crafts; knitting items, crocheting projects and embroidery pictures. She even had a thrift store named after her, Annie B's.

In June 1952 she married Charles Hampton in Rochester, New York. They had five children whom she loved with all her heart. She made each one of them feel as though they were her favorite. A position that will be contested among the siblings for a very long time.

Anne loved to do her crafts. One of her favorites was to make lap blankets for the nursing homes. She volunteered in her church with their second-hand clothing mission. One of her special traits was finding bargains. When family visited she would show them her latest finds and what a deal she got them for. What she was mostly known for was her love of people and love of socializing. No matter where she went she could carry on a conversation with anyone.

In September 1983 she married Charles Bradbury who preceded her death by two weeks. They enjoyed traveling together while he was in the United States Air Force Band.

Her family is going to miss her humor. She would make us laugh for hours with her sharp wit and quick retorts. "Are we having fun yet?" was her catchphrase. Chocolate cake, madeleine cookies and coffee with cream were her trademark delights. She was one of the sweetest people that you could meet and not just because all of the sweets she ate.

Anne was preceded in death by: Charles Bradbury (husband), Charles Hampton Jr. (son), Matthew Hampton (grandson), Rosemary Enos (sister), Lisa Hampton (daughter-in-law), Charles Hampton Sr. (former husband).

She is survived by: (daughter) Valerie Hampton, (son) Rick Hampton (late Lisa Hampton), (son) Brian Hampton (Natalie), (daughter) Laura Traxler (Scott). Six grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild.

Services for both her and her husband are to be held at Security Church of the Nazarene/Life Community Church 800 Hackberry Drive Security, Colorado 80911 January 20, 2024 at 1:00PM.
