Obituary of Markel Deshauen Brown

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Markel "Kel" Deshauen Brown, at the young age of 30, left his earthly body on January 16, 2024. He was born on September 9, 1993 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to loving parents Marlene Bell Darden and Steven Darden.

Preceded in death are auntie Victoria Bell-Vines, great grandmother Evelyn Fraizer, grandfather Jake Bell Jr., cousin Jovar Ray Cannon and other extended family. Those left behind to cherish Kel's memory are loving parents Marlene Darden and Steven Darden, brother Dominique Darden, sister Corinna Darden, grandmother Deborah Wright, grandfather Earnest Richardson, niece Julianna Darden, cousin Alan Vines Jr., and many aunties, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Kel graduated from Widefield High School and went on to graduate from the International Barber School before deciding on a career in health care as a patient advocate for Memorial Hospital here in Colorado Springs.

Markel was a ray of sunshine to anyone he met; he truly was fully of life. He proudly represented his favorite sports teams the Kansas City Chiefs and Ohio State University and played for the "Wise Guys" softball team. Kel couldn't get enough of his sports!

Viewing for Markel will take place on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 4:00PM with a funeral service immediately to follow at All Veterans Funeral & Cremation Colorado Springs Chapel, 1020 E. Fillmore St. Colorado Springs, Colorado 80907.

In honor of Markel the family is requesting that friends and family please wear Markel's favorite color, red, or your favorite sports team jersey.
