Obituary of David Henry Riefenberg

 

July 19, 1928 – February 2, 2024

A 60 year resident of Kerr Gulch in the Evergreen area. A graduate of North High School and the University of Denver.

He served in the 88th Infantry Division in Italy at the end of WWII.

He retired from Rocky Flats after 36 years of service as Senior Materials Engineer.

A follower of Jesus and lover of the outdoors, an avid skier (long time member of the Loveland Ski Patrol and was sking up until he was 92),

backpacker, hunter, fisherman and explorer of the beautiful places in the Rocky Mountains.

He could keep old pickups and Jeeps running forever!

Survived by his 5 sons: Carl, David (Carlin), Paul (Kerry), Joey, Jonny. 8 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild.

He joins his wife LaQuetta, daughter Jill and grandson Kade in heaven.

Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Kittredge Community Church.

Committal service will be on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 am at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Staging area C.
