Obituary of Rannold Chalmers

Rannold Chalmers, age 59, passed away in his home on February 15, 2024 after battling some health issues. He was born on October 14, 1964 in Horn Lake, MS to Johnny and Clytee Chalmers. He was the second born of seven. His formative years were spent in Memphis, TN where he graduated from Southside High School. He was known to family and friends as “Randy”.

During his teen and early adult years, he worked in a local corner store in South Memphis where he met and married his former spouse. Due to her military commitment, they relocated to Oklahoma in 1987. He worked a janitorial position on the Air Force Base and eventually enlisted in the United States Army in 1988. His first duty station was at Fort Sill Army base, and in the service of his country, he was deployed for combat in 1990 in support of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. Shortly after returning from war, he received PCS orders to Fort Carson Army Post where he served honorably and separated from the military in 1994. Colorado Springs, Colorado remained home for him, and he began his career as an over-the-road truck driver.

After many personal challenges, he received his veteran disability rating. He lived to fish and hunt, and was an avid gun enthusiast. He was especially fond of having his grandsons, Isaac and Elias, fish with him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Clytee Chalmers, his brothers, Johnny Chalmers Jr. and Clyde Chalmers, and his stepdaughter, Quinn Cameron.

He is survived by his former spouse and friend, Patricia Wright and their 3 sons, Rannold Chalmers II, Sean Avery Chalmers, and Michael Joseph Chalmers; long-time companion, Lisa Bonomo and their sons, Jadien Chalmers and stepson Greyson Cameron; father, Johnny Chalmers Sr.; grandsons, Isaac Chalmers and Elias Chalmers; (3) sisters, Clytis Chalmers, Barbara Bevers and Sandra Epps; and (3) brothers, Jack Chalmers, Tyrone Chalmers and Robert Chalmers;  and many loving family and friends.
