Anyone who was blessed to meet Carol knew immediately that she had the most beautiful soul. She cared for strangers the same as she did her family. She held nothing back. When she made a new friend, she was all in. She loved with all her heart and she supported her friends through their troubles, even while dealing with her own. She was one to put others first in concern for their comfort over her own. Even at the end of her life, she wanted to make others smile and enjoy their time with her instead of dwelling on her own pain and discomfort. Although Carol had many friends, she had a way of making each one of us feel as if we were her only one by devoting as much time and love we needed to get through whatever we we’re going through in life. Carol was a strong woman. She endured many struggles in life that many would not have overcome. Her faith was tested and each time she overcame those tests and her faith was renewed stronger than ever. Carol held her own. She stood up for what she believed in without apology. She was as genuine as they come. Her heart was pure, her laughter was contagious and her smile was merely a sneak peek into what love she held inside for others. I was truly blessed to have had Carol in my life for 28+ years. We adored each other. We could make each other laugh until we tinkled our pants. We would cry together feeling each other’s pain. We did not judge. What Carol and I had was true friendship. The majority of our friendship was long distance, but we could burn up the phone lines for hours on end talking about absolutely nothing at all. Every time we were able to visit each other, we would pick up right where we left off as if we were never apart. Some of my favorite memories with my friend Carol were spent at the beach. We would people watch until the sun went down. We were our own entertainment. That’s what I loved about Carol, she kept it simple. I could not say goodbye to my angel friend, but instead asked her to save me a seat on her favorite cloud. I love her and think of her every day. Our friendship continues......
