It's been a month since Norb rode the Western Gate.
I met first met him over 40 years ago on an oil deal in Montana. I alwayed looked forward to time spent with Norb....What a fertile mind. The man was a thinker with an endless supply of ideas, deals, and friends.
Damn I miss that guy. Good friends are hard to come by.

Introduced by a good friend, Norb and I met while I was going through a divorce after 33 years of marriage (thereafter my wife married my best friend). Norbert knew he could not replace her but, in an appropriate way and time period, replaced him.
As our friendship grew we pursued various business transactions and he later mentioned that our “first deal” was the largest he had ever been involved with. Over the years (since the late 90’s) there was little, we learned, we could not trust about the other. Norb’s spirit will endure in each who knew him well and memories to each of us, I know, brings a smile to our face. He was truly a unique individual and will be misses!
God Bless, my brother from a different mother; I will look forward to seeing you again (hopefully not too soon, lol); in Heaven my good and trusted friend.

I've had the pleasure of knowing Norb as a friend since 1985 when I moved to CO. We've traveled all over Colorado and to California and Belize together to chase real estate and investment opportunities.
Norb's kindness, honesty and integrity set him apart from almost anyone I've ever known. He was a dear and trusted friend that I was proud to know.
He leaves an empty place here on earth with his departure that cannot be filled.
I pray that Mary and the kids will receive the comfort of our heavenly Father in their grief.
I know he is in heaven now which makes me smile. He finally closed the biggest and most important deal of his life and will spend eternity, free of pain, without tears with almighty God on the biggest and finest ranch there is!
God bless you Norb! Thank you for your friendship and guidance.
You will be missed brother.

This may appear twice:
NORB was "special" for several reasons in our 8 member LIARS GROUP. He joined us at our occasional lunches...always with a huge smile and wonderful stories.
All "Liars" were from Montana....except NORB. He joined us because of our admiration of MARY...who as we all know is from Missoula. The joy he brought to the group was ALL NORB.
We will really miss him.... We extend our sincere condolences. don kinney

I was a shipmate of Norb's on USS Henderson (DD785) in 1958 & 9. Norb, known as Hank in those days, was the consummate Naval Officer and was well respected by all those who served with him. After I moved to the Denver area I had lunch dates with him about every month or two and we would reminisce by retelling the same old stories of times on Henderson and remember those with whom we served. I always looked forward to those lunches. Our last lunch together was on 8 May of this year and I will truly miss future ones.
Norb introduced me to trips to Cheyenne for the rodeos. Every time we went there he would run into a number of his old time friends in the cattle business and it was clear he was much liked by all. Good bye dear friend and smooth sailing.

My name is Stephen omotayo from Lagos, Nigeria.I met with Norb Kmoch in late 2018 thru my cousin who resides in Denver .
Norb ,over the few years have knew him is a humble and kindhearted person have ever met.I learnt a lot from him over the course of time.
We still spoke some few weeks ago about him coming for a visit to Africa and he was glad and we had it all planned.
Norb is a good man and I will surely miss him ,I share with the family the pain of losing a dear one.Norb will surely be missed by all cos he's a good man.
Acts 24:15 says " And I have hope towards God,which hope these men also look forward to,that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. "
So we hope to see Norb again

My 1st cousin Ivan was my best friend until he introduced me to Norbert 52 years ago!
No arguments or misunderstandings, just unconditional love.

My name is Michael Arnold, Chuck and Joedy Arnold’s 3rd and most special child. Uncle Norb was the greatest! I will always remember and cherish Thanksgiving dinners with him and his family. After stuffing ourselves with turkey, stuffing, and giblet gravy like bohunks do we would go to the couch for some college football and an after meal drink of Tokai with grandpa and dad. Soon we would all be snoring. Upon awakening we would indulge in dessert and coffee. I have so many wonderful memories of this man. He is one of my favorites of all time. Love you uncle Norb.

My first memory of Norb was in Rawlins WY where we met at the local diner to prepare to show a 100,000 acre ranch to a Nevada rancher, who also became a good friend of Norb. Norb was inspirational to me for his great sense of humor, perception of reality, work ethic and sense of urgency to complete our task. He had a great mind and enjoyed the everyday banter over ranch property and those unique individuals he crossed in the real estate and insurance industries. Certainly a fine gentleman! John Stratman
