Obituary of Roger Hughes

Roger Hughes

On Sunday, June 19th, 2022, Roger Hughes, loving father and son, passed away at the age of
62 in Aurora, Colorado.

Roger was born on February 17th, 1960 in San Francisco, California to Charlene Lockhart
Sommers and Harry W. Hughes (deceased). Later he would gain three loving sisters, Jennifer
Runchey, Stacey Moran, and Jill Com, and one brother, Scott Sommers. At the age of 18, Roger
joined the coast guard where he served for 10 years and was able to travel and live in beautiful
places like Hawaii. Eventually, he moved to Aurora, Colorado where he gained two children,
Sarah Hughes and Melody Hughes (formerly known as Alexander Hughes). He gained several
certificates in IT and eventually got a job at Colorado Housing and Finance Authority where he
worked for 25 years.

Roger was just a big kid in a lot of ways. He was always discussing his newest slot cars or video
games that he was playing. He loved to share his music taste with anyone who would or even
wouldn't listen. He had a big heart and was always willing to help with a problem and if he didn't
know the answer he sure would find it out or someone that was willing to help out. He will
always be remembered for his great sense of humor and laugh that was so infectious it could
get an entire office laughing

Roger was preceded in death by his Father, Harry W. Hughes. He is survived by his mother
Charlene Lockhart Sommers, two children, Sarah Hughes and Melody Hughes, and his sisters
Jennifer Runchey, Stacey Moran, and Jill Cob.
