Dahm, Sheryl Louise

June 27, 1942 – July 8, 2022

 

 

The Lord took Sheryl home gently and peacefully at Crossroad's Memory Care, Lakewood, CO with Dignity Hospice Care and support.

 

Sheryl is survived by her husband of 58 years, Quentin Dahm, son Christopher (Cyndi), brother Roger (Jill) and grandchildren Zach, Rebekah, Joel, many nieces and nephews and adopted daughter Silvia Vasquez-Lavato. Preceeded in death by daughter Lori and sister Carolyn Wallisch.

 

Sheryl was born in Denver to Morgan and Margaret White. She attended Whittier Elementary, Skinner Jr High and graduated from North High in 1960, She graduated from Colorado State College / UNC in 1964 with a BS in Elementary Education. While at CSC/UNC she pledged Tri Sigma Sorority, was President of the Chapter her senior year. Sheryl's commitment to Tri Sigma continued in the Denver Metro Tri Sigma Alumni Chapter where she held offices of Treasurer-Secretary and President. Sheryl had a 60 year relationship with Tri Sigma. She was loved and loved her sisters in Tri Sigma.

 

She married Quentin Dahm on July 11, 1964 and taught 3rd grade in Webster Groves, Missouri for three years while Quentin finished Dental school at St. Louis University. She became a Navy wife in 1967 with stops in Lemoore, California where son Christopher was born, a year in Denver with her Mom while Quentin was in Vietnam and mustered out at Long Beach Naval station in 1969. She and Quentin returned to Denver to begin a Dental practice. She gave birth to a daughter-Lori in November 1969. She was a full time Mom – part time Dental Assistant – part time Dental Office Manager.

 

Sheryl was involved at Brentwood United Methodist Church in the 1970's. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She was active with Southern Gable E. Free Church in the 1980's in Bible Study and choir. She was active in Foothills Bible Church from the 1990's to the present in choir and MOPS

(Mothers of Pre-schoolers) as a Mentor Mom. She really loved mentoring young Moms and she was great at it. They loved her

back.

 

Sheryl was a member of Pinehurst Country Club for 30 years, playing golf with 18 Hole Ladies and the 9 Hole Ladies Associations.

She enjoyed traveling and playing golf in the U.S. And around the world. Playing Pebble Beach in California, St. Andrews old course in Scotland and Cape Kidappers in New Zealand and a couple of other courses in Iceland were her best golf memories.

 

Sheryl touched so many lives with her gentle nature, compassion, leadership skills, sweet smile and baby blue eyes.

 

Sheryl was Quentin's Prayer partner – Parenting partner – Golf partner – Running partner – Gardening partner and Home Making partner.

 

“For better for worse – in sickness and in health do death do us part” until we are together again in Heaven. The Love of his life.
